How to Setup Asset Types

Learn how to create and edit Asset Types

Asset types describe different types of load carriers or racks. 

Examples: 

  • A-Frame
  • L-Frame
  • Roll container 

NOTE: You must create asset types before you create assets via the Scanpage. 

Create Asset Types

  1. Open the BOX ID software. 
  2. Select Settings from the menu. 
  3. Click the tile Asset Types, to open the asset type list. 
  4. Click the plus symbol.  This will open the entry mask Create Asset Type
  5. In the Name field, enter the name of the asset type and select a colour for the asset type.  When choosing a name for the asset type, make sure that it enables unambiguous identification of the type. 
  6. Under Properties, you can activate and define additional attributes.  Example: 
    1. Move the slider for Image to On
    2. Click on Upload Image
    3. Select the required image file. Alternatively, you can drag the desired image file into Upload Image (drag and drop). 
  7. Click on Create to save the asset type. 

 

Edit Asset Types 

  1. Select Settings from menu and click on the tile Asset Types to open the list of asset types. 
  2. By clicking an asset type of your choice, you open the detailed view of this asset type. 
  3. Click Edit to open the editing view. 
  4. You can change the following values. 
    1. asset type name 
    2. asset type colour 
    3. Scanpage template 
    4. asset type properties 
  5. To exit, you have the following options. 
    1. Click Cancel to end editing without saving. 
    2. Use Save to keep the changes. 
    3. Click Delete to remove the asset type from the asset list and the Scanpage.
