Grouping of Assets
Group assets dynamically to reveal patterns and outliers
Asset grouping helps you quickly understand large sets of assets by organizing them into meaningful categories—like type, label, or source—directly within the map experience.
What is Asset Grouping?
Asset Grouping lets you aggregate and visualize assets based on shared attributes. Instead of reviewing assets one by one, you can instantly see patterns, distributions, and outliers.
Grouping is on-demand, meaning you activate it only when needed—keeping the map fast and uncluttered.
Grouping is not active by default.
How to Group Assets
1. Open the Asset Table
Navigate to the asset table from the map view.
2. (Optional) Filter Your Assets
You can narrow down the dataset before grouping:
-
Apply filters in the table (e.g., by type or label)
-
Zoom or move the map to focus on a specific area
Grouping will only apply to the assets currently visible or filtered.
3. Activate Grouping
Click Show Grouping. A side panel will open showing:
-
A pie chart of asset distribution
-
A list of groups with total counts
4. Explore the Results
You can group assets by:
-
Asset Type
-
Labels
-
Position Source
The panel helps you:
-
See distribution in the chart
-
Compare groups using the ranked list
5. Adjust the Scope (Optional)
For large datasets, you can limit the number of groups shown:
-
Top 5
-
Top 10
-
Top 20
This keeps the view readable and responsive.
If you change filters or move the map, grouping will automatically update or reset.
6. Exit Grouping
Close the panel or turn off grouping to return to the standard view.
